A 46-year old non-smoker female without significant medical history, presented with painful varicose veins of left leg since the age of 20s when she had a first pregnancy. Her symptoms are leg achiness, heaviness, fatigue, burning and swelling. She is a full-time medical attendance requiring constant walking and standing. Since 2~3 years ago, her symptoms started significantly limiting activities of daily living as well as impairing her job productivities despite compression stockings. Doppler showed varicose veins of medial and posterior left leg come from incompetent, enlarged Great Saphenous Vein (GSV) and Small Saphenous Vein (SSV) with retrograde flow. Both GSV and SSV were treated with endovenous laser ablation (ELA). After successful saphenous ablation treatments, almost complete relief of leg achiness and heaviness and visually significant reduction of varicosities are noted.
